Web browser plugin for Mac OS X
Oct 12, 2019 Apple’s latest Mac update, macOS Catalina, was released earlier this week, and with it came a flurry of complications both minor and major. For one, this update is the first for Apple to drop 32. I have revived my Mac Mini 3,1 with Catalina thanks to dosdude1's patcher - and so far, it worked great! But, this is actually a Mac Mini Server (from 2009). So the obvious application is to deploy it as a server - a home server, to be exact. So I enabled remote administration (to also allow SSH) in.
Support for NPAPI plugins was removed from all modern web browsers, so VLC's plugin is no longer maintained. The last version is 3.0.4 and can be found here. It will not receive any further updates.

SSH and VNC becoming unresponsive in Catalina I have a 2011 Mac Mini that I use as a headless server, for Plex, file sharing, backups and so on. It has no keyboard, no mouse, and no screen, and sits in my server cabinet. The client side of ARD is built-in to the Mac operating system. The administration tool is the bit you buy - these days via the Mac App Store. I do know that relatively recently an update for ARD Admin was issued. The version I am currently running after that update is 3.9.3 (1A50) although this is still in Mojave. Select “All users” to let anyone with a user account on your Mac share your screen. Select “Only these users,” click the Add button, then select the users who can share your Mac. Click Computer Settings, then select options for your Mac. If people connect using a VNC viewer, you need to set a password.

We provide older releases for users who wish to deploy our software on legacy releases of Mac OS X. You can find recommendations for the respective operating system version below. Note that support ended for all releases listed below and hence they won't receive any further updates.
